Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Director, Social & Influencer Strategy

Have you ever been accused of being Extremely Online — and secretly thought, “thank you”? Do you scroll TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn with equal enthusiasm, then immediately translate what you see into, “here’s how a Fortune 100 client could actually use this without embarrassing themselves”? Do you instinctively know the difference between a moment that belongs in a client deck and one that should stay buried in the group chat?

On any given day, you might be:

  • Building an influencer program that’s smart enough for the C-suite but will actually land on social.
  • Coaching associates on how to use a trending sound without making the brand look like someone’s dad on TikTok. Unless it’s a cool dad.
  • Advising a client on whether they need that A-list celeb… or if five niche creators will actually do the job better.
  • Partnering with creative, paid, and earned colleagues to pull off an idea that feels both ambitious and achievable.
  • Presenting a social strategy so good that your clients forget to check their email mid-meeting.

POV: You’re our next Director, Social + Influencer Strategy.

Weber Shandwick is looking for an Atlanta based Director, Social + Influencer Strategy who speaks internet fluently, loves strategy, and can lead both social and influencer programs with confidence (and maybe a little humor).

What You’ll Do.

  • Lead integrated social + influencer strategies that move culture and
  • Build and oversee influencer programs from strategy to execution — spotting the right creators, negotiating contracts, and measuring impact.
  • Counsel clients on the creator strategy and help them navigate influence vs. reputation risk.
  • Translate memes, moments, and data into client-ready recommendations that land.
  • Serve as senior counsel to executives and win trust in the room.
  • Mentor and elevate junior team members
  • Help shape the future of our Atlanta office and contribute to growth across the agency.

Who You Are

  • 7–9+ years of experience in social, influencer, or integrated communications (agency background a plus).
  • Proven track record leading large, complex integrated campaigns that blend social + influencer strategy.
  • Deep expertise in social platforms, influencer marketing trends, content formats, ad targeting, and analytics.
  • Both strategist and operator — equally comfortable selling the vision to the C-suite and talking content vibes with creators.
  • Skilled at building and managing influencer partnerships, with experience collaborating across creative, media, analytics, and PR.
  • A strong people leader who motivates, coaches, and raises the bar for everyone.
  • Known for making strategies that actually make sense — for the brand, the audience, and the cultural moment.
  • Excellent communicator and persuasive presenter, in person and virtually.
  • Culturally fluent, endlessly curious, resilient, and proactive — with a healthy sense of humor.

TL;DR: You’re social media obsessed, strategically brilliant, influencer-savvy, funny enough to survive a client dinner, and ready to make Atlanta another hub for social + influencer greatness. If that sounds like you we have a seat for you in Atlanta and sometimes a square on Microsoft Teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 7–9 years of experience in digital communications, marketing, or related fields with a strong focus on influencer marketing and social media.
  • Proven experience supporting large, complex clients with integrated campaigns that blend social and influencer strategies.
