USGLC’s Liz Schrayer on the Future of U.S. Global Leadership
Liz Schrayer, President & CEO of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC), joined Weber Shandwick EVP of Geopolitical Strategy & Risk Michelle Giuda for a conversation on the intersection of global and local, vaccine geopolitics, the U.S. election – and the implications of all of the above on the future of U.S. global leadership.
- On the geopolitical risk to business: “We’re seeing, but we’re not prioritizing. It’s the global playing field. There is so much rushing at us on the domestic side, but if we want to protect our economy, we better stay engaged in the world.”
- On the intersection of economic security and national security: “I think this idea of national security as economic security, economic security as national security is a bipartisan issue… national security and economic interest is literally tied together.”
Finally, on the geopolitics of vaccines, Schrayer highlighted the dual challenges of vaccine distribution and developing health systems around the world.
