Armando Azarloza brings more than 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing and advertising. As president of The Axis Agency, a part of the Interpublic Group of Companies, Armando leads our teams in providing clients with the best insights into the U.S. multicultural markets.
An expert in integrated marketing, his campaigns are defined by innovation and creative thinking. Whether launching a new product, managing a company’s reputation or brand building among Hispanics and African Americans his efforts produce compelling experiences that are consistent with lifestyle, tell a story and drive unique relevant influences.
Armando has been instrumental in helping shape and develop the proper cultural strategy for many respected brands. They include U.S. Army, Azteca America, Univision, Televisa, Nintendo, Absolut Vodka, Waste Management, Clorox, Kohl’s, U.S. Treasury, Catholic Healthcare West and the Los Angeles Police Department. His teams have been recipients of more than 15 national marketing awards on behalf of clients.
Prior to Axis, Armando was executive vice president and general manager of the Los Angeles office of Weber Shandwick.
Before joining the firm, Armando was press secretary to U.S. Rep. Buck McKeon, the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. Armando started his career as an advanceman for First Lady Nancy Reagan.
Armando serves on a number of community boards including as president of Padres Contra el Cancer, a non-profit healthcare organization affiliated with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and a board member of the LAPD Youth Foundation. He is also on the board of advisors of Hispanicize, the U.S. Hispanic Social Media Conference.
Fluent in Spanish, Armando studied political science at UCLA and lives in Los Angeles with his wife Elizabeth and their three daughters.
