Vice President, Technology

We’re looking for a VP, Communications to join  our Technology team in Seoul. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client accounts, developing and executing communication strategies, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. Our team in Korea work with some of the largest international and local businesses and this is a great opportunity for someone wanting to get more experience working on large-scale global communications projects with global stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Media and Communications

  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans that align with clients’ business objectives
  • Responsible for handling issues and crisis management for clients
  • Manage all aspects of client projects, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Act as key contact for internal account staff to address issues and queries
  • Attend account reviews and staff meetings – provide ongoing communications and feedback
  • Ensure account team members adhere to agency time reporting and financial guideline
  • Deal with the crisis and major issue management

Client 

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned client accounts
  • Keep client programs on schedule and ensure all deadliness are met

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in PR account management, preferably in corporate communications
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Knowledge of media relations and experience pitching to journalists
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills that bring your ideas to life through explanations that engage and excite internal and external audiences
  • Flawless attention to detail with a proven ability to manage full project lifecycles from brief to delivery and measurement
  • Enthusiasm for strategic planning, creative ideation, new business development and long-term client partnerships
  • Understand the elements that make a story exciting, what brands are doing in the press and on social platforms, and what they should do next
  • A team player who can collaborate with a range of people to devise the best approach to the work in hand and bring your team along with you throughout the journey
  • Fluency in English and Korean is essential
  • Proficiency in MS Office and PR software tools
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Senior Manager, Healthcare

Weber Shandwick Korea is seeking a highly motivated individual who is passionate about data-driven communication strategy and excels in fast-paced, dynamic environments. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our global and domestic pharmaceutical clients in various communications-related projects.

As a Manager / Senior Manager, you will be an integral contributor to our Healthcare team, working hands-on with our globally known pharmaceutical and healthcare clients to ensure a smooth and positive client experience.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Develop a strong understanding of the client’s business and target audiences and work collaboratively with strategists and creative team members to deliver solutions that meet program objectives;
  • Develop strategic messaging for clients and support creation of media plans and proposals that take an integrated approach to driving awareness with target audiences both domestically and globally;
  • Foster meaningful relationships with health media reporters, and facilitate interviews and meetings for client-side spokespeople with media liaisons;
  • Create engaging and eye-grabbing story ideas and topic angles, oversee team in developing media materials, and pitch media to land earned coverage;
  • Collaborate with the internal digital team to develop a digital social media strategy;
  • Manage existing client relationships and develop potential for new clients to grow the healthcare team business;
  • Support client spokesperson training;
  • Compose reports on campaign results;
  • Determine program KPIs and write reports on PR activities.

 

What You Will Need:

  • Fluent Korean (Ability to do business smoothly in Korean);
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the PR / Communications industry, ideally in an agency environment
  • Experience executing multi-channel communications strategies and tactics
  • Strong media relations (magazines, news networks, TV channels, etc.) skills;

 

Preferred Experience:

  • English Proficiency (our Healthcare team consultants currently utilise Korean on a day-to-day basis, but if you can bring English or other languages to the team, it is a huge plus for us!);
  • Experience in Healthcare Industry (Pharmaceutical / Medical / Medtech / Clinical Research / Pharmaceutical Sales / Cosmetics, etc.);

Client Finance Analyst

Client Finance Analyst

We are looking for a Client Financial Analyst who will approach work with a sense of possibility and see challenges as opportunities for creative problem solving; take initiative to explore issues and find innovative solutions. This person will report to Senior Client Finance Manager. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide financial support to client service teams and monitor client budgets on a project basis

• Responsible for maintaining various financial trackers (revenue, billing, burn reports, etc)

• Manage inter-company budgets with guidance from VP/FD for timeliness and accuracy between participating offices

• Partner closely inter-departmentally to ensure proper and accurate recording and reporting of financial and accounting transactions

• Proactively document, follow up on, and close out in a timely fashion any revenue, budgeting, billing, invoicing, or payment issues that pertain to Client(s)

• Assist in the creation and preparation of annual budget & quarterly forecast

• Monitor jobs, estimates and rate cards to ensure accuracy 

• Monitor project activity to ensure job codes are opened/maintained/closed accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with the SOW in coordination with client service team and biller

• Partner with client service teams to ensure monthly financial schedule is followed, including but not limited to WIP management, billing, % effort complete

• Partner closely with Shared Services/Omaha to drive efficiency and effectiveness on billing process to ensure timely and accurate invoicing

• Act as Liaison between the client service teams and various departments on financial matters • Serve as reliable and forward-thinking business analytics resource on dedicated accounts

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting with 2+ years of experience

• SAP and Hyperion background preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with very strong excel skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to effectively work and communicate with finance and non-financial people, alike

• Ability to effectively manage workload, prioritize and streamline tasks to ensure accuracy and, take “ownership-mentality” in work/clients

• Able to anticipate problems, analyze situations and proactively come up with solutions 

• Agency experience preferred

 

NYC Salary range: $65,000 – $75,000

Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
