Senior Vice President, Employee Engagement, DEI & Culture

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Vice President, Employee Engagement – Diversity, Culture, Equity and Inclusion to drive new business assignments and client projects and contribute to thought leadership. What You Will Be Doing

Manage and contribute to communications and employee engagement projects for large brands, requiring knowledge of change management process and principles and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Serve as deputy to Executive Vice President, Culture, Equity & Inclusion (CEI) and act as right hand in operationalizing and building the CEI practice at The Weber Shandwick Collective (TWSC)
  • Deliver exceptional client experience, builds and owns senior client relationships, and proactively address issues and concerns that might affect these relationships
  • Focus will be on both internal and external programming such as Business Resource Groups (BRGs), influencer and media strategies, and content development
  • Bring forward best practices to our clients and help build our culture, equity and inclusion client offer
  • Develop strategy and manage day-to-day client consulting projects for large brands, requiring knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion programs, people systems, the change management process and principles and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Lead new business responses including proposal development and pitch contributions      
  • Act as a member of a cross functional team, working with other Weber Shandwick practices (Social Impact, Issues and Crisis, Change Management), to drive holistic business solutions for our clients that will have tangible and quantitative results on their bottom line
  • Build relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels
  • Ensure financial and executional KPIs are met for assigned accounts
  • Understand and contribute to setting priorities and meeting goals for practice/discipline-level financial-health
  • Integrate junior staff into workflow scenarios; possesses the ability to delegate tasks while still remaining accountable for outcomes
  • Oversee resourcing and manage contractors on projects
  • Supervise junior staff by motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback, holding them accountable and conducting their reviews

 What We Are Looking For

  • Previous agency or consultancy experience required
  • Diversity, equity and inclusion practitioner expertise and practice growth
  • Strong oral and written business communication skills
  • Change management experience/certification is a plus
  • Ability to professionally interface with clients
  • Exhibits a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Able to drive results even in ambiguous situations, able to quickly take ownership of process or deliverables
  • Demonstrates potential to lead engagements
  • Shows exceptional judgment when working with team members, client contacts and vendors
  • Exhibits a strong commitment to agency and personal career success
  • Consistently meets (often tight) deadlines
  • Emphasizes attention to detail and quality, while working with a sense of urgency

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 10 years’ experience driving diversity and inclusion strategy, communications and change strategies for large complex organizations – either from the perspective of an agency or a consulting firm
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, public relations, English or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
