Weber Shandwick is looking for an Associate, Influence to join our team. We are looking for a collaboration-minded person with skills in social media influencer relations, content creation and strategic planning in the influencer, paid and earned media space. Additionally, this person will assist in event planning & productions and management and in managing and nourishing client relationships. This role will focus on a major CPG brand out of the Weber Shandwick Chicago office.    


  • Day-to-day support for influencer programs across a portfolio to offer stretch opportunities.
  • Day-to-day support includes maintaining influencer program checklists, developing influencer recommendation decks, supporting influencer network communication and reviewing and providing feedback on influencer content.
  • Collaborate with Analytics & Insights team to track influencer program results and formulate into client-facing recap decks.
  • Work closely with Platform Strategy team to build tactical plans and ensure successful influencer programs from determining the social media platform to types of content.
  • Search for influencer partners in line with brand criteria and program needs, both organically and through influencer sourcing platforms.
  • In charge of building influencer brand guides and briefs.
  • Create influencer UTMs and fill out paid agency trafficking sheets.
  • Research trends, support influencer thought leadership documents, POVs and case studies.
  • Creation of purchase orders and management of vendor paperwork regarding payments, including IPG insurance payments.
  • Manage in-depth vetting of influencers.
  • Day to day positive and integrated contact with account team and influencer vendors on timelines, influencer selection, product shipments, client review and more.
  • Present influencer recommendations to clients, building influencer archetypes and samples into strategic plans.
  • Answer straightforward client questions via email after flagging to leads.
  • Draft potential responses and email updates for influencer leads.
  • Join and contribute to IAT influencer-related brand calls.
  • Can build more complex and integrated deck templates for teams.



  • 1-2 years of Influencer Marketing experience

  • You must influence creative ideations: from the ideas presented, to the influencers selected, to the content created, all the way down to the language used in post copy.
  • Have high cultural competencies: Understand the role and importance of diversity, equity & inclusion (DE&I)
  • You must be culturally vigilant with the ability to understand, communicate with and effectively interact with people across cultures.



  • Deep understanding of the influencer landscape is required.
  • Proven ability to build, speak and grow relationships with change agents and cultural makers (celebrities, influencers, artists, thought leaders) directly or via their agents.
  • You must be open to a public-facing role; willingness to speak publicly about influencer trends when opportunities present itself to the WS Influencer Team.
  • Use data driven insights to build strong strategies and is immersed and on top of trends (reading e-marketer, ad week, Next Atlas etc.



  • Working with your leads, you will learn to “step up to the plate” and lead effectively in the client’s and agency’s best interests while also helping to cultivate, mentor and coach mid to junior staff members on the influencer team.



  • Know how to identify and manage diverse vendors and partners: in an industry where technologies (SaaS platforms, AI, managed services, etc.) are popping on the daily, at high volume, no less, you must have experience working with RFPs and meeting with leading tech companies to understand their services and identify their uniqueness (and keep up with their ongoing changes in our WS influencer database).



  • Identify influencer opportunities (organic or new) to ensure influencer marketing continues to be a strong marketing discipline and revenue driver on your assigned account or at Weber Shandwick.



  • Willing to learn a little bit of everything, and open to take on anything.



  • Understand how important it is to be in compliance with best practices (FTC updates, platform requirements), continuously build our excellence by partnering with legal and finance to ensure risk and liabilities are reduced and tamed for every campaign you touch.
