Weber Shandwick is excited to be seeking a talented Business Manager to join our growing Commercial Team.

We are looking for a true business partner to our clients / department heads with a key focus on 4 areas:

 

  • Revenue Growth
  • Margin Improvement
  • Resource Management
  • Cashflow

You’ll be instrumental in working with the business to maintain and continually drive commercial improvement. We are looking for someone who can help shape the agency from working in silos to a connected team. You will drive best practice and consistency as well as keeping our KPI’s on track.

What will you be doing?

Line Management and Partnerships

  • Line managing and developing 1 / 2 Assistant Business Manager
  • Partnering the Client Leaders and Department Heads
  • Ensuring SOX compliance
  • Ensuring contractual compliance
  • Support with system and process improvement

 

Reporting

  • Lead and take Ownership of all Reporting relating to a Client / Company Portfolio
  • Responsible for Accurate and Timely Forecasting
  • Agreeing forecat figures with Practice lead / MD
  • Summarising and Preparing the Quarterly Reforecast Presentations
  • Preparing Monthly / Quarterly information for client requests
  • Preparation of Standard monthly reporting documents for Group

 

Revenue / Scoping / Margin Improvement

  • Ownership of monthly actuals and Forecasting
  • Revenue Recognition – ensuring we have contracts in place and are SOX compliance
  • Maintaining Revenue Analysis schedule for Accruals and Deferrals
  • Partnering the Business Leads to drive Margin Improvement Plans
  • Advising on the impact of investment decisions – Thresholds – Planned v Actuals
  • Scoping Desk – Review key commercial information and compliance
  • Attending revenue meetings and review forecasting schedules – monthly / fortnightly for larger account – BM Larger

Utilisation

  • Time analysis & interpretation (scoped fee vs. actuals) (incl. running the time reports)
  • Review with Client Leads Project Budget Trackers and action plans agreed and discussed with CFO- OS/ CM
  • Analyse the WIP between Billable and Non Billable and action in SAP and comments and submit to controllers – Hyperion
  • Time transfers – consultation if linked to non billable

Costs

  • Monitoring and approving Travel and Expenses
  • Maximising the utilization of IPG Vendors v External suppliers

 

Networking Capital

  • Accrued & Deferred Income
  • Minimise Income Accruals and ensure deferrals are reflected in the forecast or journaled where appropriate
  • Commentary on accruals/deferrals balances
  • Deferred Revenue Transfers
  • WIP
  • Ownership of WIP management of client portfolio
  • Debtors
  • Monthly review meetings with SSC and follow up actions
  • Primary contact for escalation from SSC (coordinate following up with account teams directly)
  • Account Payable
  • Vendor PO Approvals

 

Audit / SOX

  • Audit Requests
  • SOX Testing
  • Escalation point for all control issues
  • Internal and external audit
  • Preparation and collation of audit documents

 

Contract

  • SOW Commercial Terms
  • Contract Compliance
  • Contract Summaries
  • Ensuring compliance with IPG Processes
  • Ensuring implementation of price increases in line with contractual agreements

 

Processes and Improvements

  • Proactively driving improvement in Processed and Policies
  • Optimising Business Warehouse to drive improvements and efficiency and analysis

 

Housekeeping

  • Set up new employees into SAP System
  • Maintain and Reviewing Billing Rates in the SAP system
  • SAP related Access and Authorisation and access

 

Who are you?

  • Proven experience of working in a results driven billing department
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel
  • Self-motivated and energetic member of the accounts team
  • Strong attention to detail with the aim of maintaining and improving quality of procedures in line with company policy
  • Able to prioritise and meet deadlines by having a proactive, organised and flexible approach to your work
  • Experience in managing a team

 

Even better if:

  • SAP Experience
  • Experience working in a similar industry
