What will you be doing?

As part of our 30-member strong Consumer Brand team, you will be:

  • Developing strong media relationships, proactively identifying and driving media opportunities which support the client’s business objectives
  • Creatively developing media programmes that meet the client brief
  • Taking responsibility to execute media relations strategies
  • Cultivating multi-media relationships and pitching content in
  • Building relationships with influencers and working across influencer activation campaigns
  • Being part of the creative development of integrated campaigns
  • Representing the agency as part of inter-agency meetings and calls
  • Using your great writing skills for creating press materials and media pitches
  • Enhancing existing client relationships
  • Strategic counsel – providing the client with added value solutions, and developing new ideas and media plans
  • Translating client needs into project plans
  • Managing accounts, advising and supporting clients, ensuring results are achieved and client’s overall objectives are met
  • Mentoring junior staff

Who are you?

Ideally you are already operating at Account Manager level and have strong foundations in the world of PR. You are a positive energy within a team and are someone for the junior members of the practice to look up to and mirror your work ethic. You’ll need:

  • Experience working with national, high profile brands
  • Great media contacts across a range of platforms beyond traditional publications
  • Experience of managing junior team members
  • Social media and/or digital experience – and be excited to explore the ample opportunities to develop these areas of the business
  • Be an extremely organised person
  • Strong communications and client-handling skills and meticulous attention to detail

The team is growing and we’re looking to bring in a passionate and enthusiastic Junior Associate (Junior Account Executive) with media relations experience to bring the heat.

What will you be doing?  

  • Developing strong media relationships, proactively identifying and driving media opportunities which support the client’s business objectives

  • Drafting various pieces of content including: press releases and media alerts, media pitches and assisting the team to ensure copy is prepared, approved and submitted in line with deadlines

Who are you?

  • Ideally previous experience (academic and/or internship) in PR, marketing or journalism with strong interest in the consumer world

What’s happening?

Weber Shandwick is looking for a talented Associate (Account Executive) who wants to be part of the Corporate Enterprise practice in our London office. The practice is made up of a smart, dedicated and fun team with expertise spanning B2B, Corporate, Public Affairs, Crisis/Issues, Social Impact/ESG and Technology.  

The ideal candidate will be curious, ambitious, proactive and friendly. The role offers a portfolio of well-known global brands, as well as work on integrated campaigns involving earned media, strategy, creative, analytics and digital specialists. You’ll be instrumental in supporting account teams managing the day-to-day running of account, pitching to the media and securing coverage, research, and reporting on campaigns. 

What will you be doing?

  • Support delivery of an exceptional client experience by helping to develop status reports, materials trackers, media trackers, conference/event trackers and managing logistics for client/team meetings 
  • Media research, developing targeted media lists (top-tier, trade, specialist areas) and pitching contacts 
  • Develop media materials (press releases, pitch emails, reporter backgrounders, social media posts)  
  • Stay on top of industry news, trends and influencers in specific industries and be able to think through what these mean for clients 
  • Conduct research and develop media audits  
  • Deliver accurate and timely media monitoring and campaign results reports  
  • Attend and actively participate in client meetings and/or teleconferences, accurately capture meeting notes/actions 
  • Event research and preparation  
  • Supplier liaison (e.g. production companies) 

Who are you?

  • Experience in Corporate/B2B/energy/technology PR  
  • An interest in the complex world of B2B/Corporate comms – in fact, an interest in the world full stop. The Corporate Enterprise team is an incredibly curious one, with interests spanning tech, sustainability, education, politics and more. We use this to bring fresh perspective, helping tell client stories through the lens of so many other industries   
  • An understanding and proficiency in both media relations and the delivery of an exceptional client experience 
  • An initial but growing set of journalist contacts with Corporate, B2B, energy and technology vertical sector beats, or the ability to forge such relationships 
  • Experience using standard PR tools (e.g. ResponseSource, Cision, Gorkana) 
  • Be an excellent communicator and possess exceptional writing skills, particularly the ability to digest complex information and turn it into compelling, understandable written copy 
  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for the client, practice and team
  • Experience interacting with clients on a day-to-day basis
  • A proven ability to manage projects, manage your time and consistently meet deadlines  
  • Attentive to detail and quality
  • Fluency in Microsoft programs and digital/social media platforms, tools and solutions
