Junior Associate, Media Relations

As Junior Associate, you are the future of our agency. A Junior Associate of Integrated Media is your entry point to our industry so we try to give exposure and practical experience. By supporting our client teams through media relations, research, project and administrative support, you will get a broad understanding of our agency, the clients you touch and the marketing services industry overall. This particular opening will support technology companies and potentially an energy industry client.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Work with colleagues across functions to help the entire engagement team
- Understand clients' vision, media targets
- Accurately maintain executional tools, trackers and reporting
- Share results of work in a structured way
- Monitor media outlets for coverage of client news, innovative trends
- Effectively execute timely media monitoring and reporting on a daily basis
- Develop industry knowledge and trends
- Media
- Assist with media list development, research
- Assist with editorial calendar program, monitoring storytelling opportunities and keeping team trackers up to date
- Help draft pitches as needed
- Pitch targets
- Draft coverage reports to clients; working closely with internal team on edits
- Update master coverage tracker
- Monitor media mentions using Talkwalker platform (we can train you, prior knowledge not required)
- Create first drafts of monthly monitoring reports
- Admin
- Assist with monthly billing – including tracking spending rate, preparing activity reports and initial review of pre-billing worksheets
- Set up internal and external team calls as needed Take notes on all internal/external calls (should be client-facing quality)
- Provide notes + action items to team
- Own/facilitate Teams channels, email alias
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Experience: entry level
- Strong demonstrated interest in PR, media relations, and client account management
- Timely communication of significant issues and challenges
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Resourceful and effective problem solver
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Can prioritize multiple deadlines/activities
