Financial Analyst

Los Angeles, California, United States

Weber Shandwick’s Los Angeles office is seeking a Financial Analyst.  The person in this position will play an important role in the firm’s revenue recognition process, and will report to the Regional Finance Director.  

Duties include:

  • Perform month end close process
  • Manage Intercompany relationships
  • Guide financial process by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures 
  • Prepare reports as required: Revenue Worksheet, P&L, budgets, revenue forecasts, JEs, revenue analysis and P&L reconciliations
  • Prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collect, analyze and consolidate financial data
  • Prepare revenue forecasts and support business planning and budget development by management and client leaders
  • Administer all client contracts with support from the legal department
  • File financial reports and advise management on needed actions.  Ensure SOX compliance at the local level
  • Monitor and confirm financial condition; provide information to external auditors
  • Manage billing staff for non-government contracts
  • Regular and proactive communication to senior management and account leads on all financial matters

Qualifications include:

  • 2+ years’ experience as an accountant/finance professional
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting preferred
  • Experience operating in a SOX compliant environment is a plus
  • Experience working in a client service/agency environment
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet reporting deadlines
  • Ability to handle complex global financial matters
  • Proven track record in accountancy/regulations compliance
  • Revenue recognition experience/knowledge
  • Very strong control skills
  • Excellent teamwork and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Hyperion and be proficient in Microsoft Office (with an expertise in Excel)
