Brand Planner

Chicago, Illinois, United States

Brand Planner/Strategist

About Us:

Weber Shandwick isn’t just a PR agency. We’re the world’s largest engagement agency. And while, sure, we’ve won our fair share of awards, what we’re really proud of is the connected network of specialized experts we’ve built, each one skilled in earning attention and driving conversation. Our strength is in our people. In our teams. In the promise we’ve all made to “go beyond” for our clients, delivering not only strategic business objectives, but real value.

Weber Shandwick is home to experts across our four value-based communities: Client Experience, Content, Insights and Integrated Media. For more information, visit http://www.webershandwick.com

We are seeking a Brand Planner/Strategist to join our growing Insights team in Chicago.

The Opportunity:

You’re insatiably curious. You seek to understand how ideas, products and people work, and how they came to be in the first place. You can relate to Carrie Mathison’s color-coded corkboard and you get that reference because you’re a culture hound. If you didn’t, you figured it out already because your research skills are off the charts.

We want to add someone to our fun, dynamic, and collaborative team who brings passion to the table, and is eager to dive deep into a wide variety of subjects – from cancer research one week to frozen pizza the next. We’re looking for someone who is excited to immerse themselves in the worlds of our consumers, IRL and scour web and third-party tools to uncover the type of insights that inspire creativity, identify relevant trends and inform game-changing recommendations for some of the world’s best brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Approach a challenge with resourcefulness, i.e. a Macgyver-like ability to get the job done
  • Help new business and client teams get smart fast about an industry, a competitive set, an audience, a trend, or a topic via primary and secondary research tools (e.g. Trendkite, Simmons, Mintel, ComScore, Quid)
  • Distill findings into easily digestible summaries, elevating insights from a sea of data, and articulating them in a narrative that is captivating, convincing, and compelling (yes, we love a good alliteration)

Qualifications

Must haves: Insatiable curiosity, jaw-dropping research skills, A+ analytical ability, team-oriented to the core, clear communicator, demonstrable interest in brands/branding.

Nice to haves: Up to two years of experience in research/insights, strategy, brand management, planning or other related role.

Weber Shandwick is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. Weber Shandwick recruits qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, age, ethnic or national origin, protected veteran status, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status or citizenship status.
