The Weber Shandwick Healthcare practice is seeking a Senior Associate to join its growing Minneapolis office.

What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking someone who is passionate about healthcare and making a difference in the lives of patients living with various diseases and conditions. The Weber Shandwick Minneapolis office is currently seeking an eager, detail-oriented Senior Associate for its Healthcare Practice. The ideal candidate has experience working on healthcare campaigns, conducting traditional and social/digital media outreach and developing communications materials.

Prior pharmaceutical, medical device, hospital/health system or insurance experience, and strong writing skills are a must.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a range of external and media materials including press releases, key message documents, pitches, social media content, etc. 
  • Develop targeted media lists and learn/follow clients' priority media: top-tier, trade, social influencers, etc.
  • Conduct research and media audits independently
  • Maintain and update status reports, including materials trackers, media trackers, conference/event trackers
  • Participate in client meetings and/or teleconferences, accurately capture meeting notes, next steps
  • Help triage and respond to client requests
  • Partner closely with integrated specialists to ensure the team delivers great work
  • Manage event logistics in a variety of settings
  • Support day-to-day training and oversight of junior team members to deliver great client work
  • Support monthly billing, as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-4 years Healthcare and/or PR/Media agency experience
  • Experience working on integrated agency teams (Earned Media, Social, Partnerships, Creative) and on data/regulatory milestones for healthcare companies; Experience in healthcare and life sciences fields
  • Professional demeanor
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as autonomously
  • Capability to handle multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and focus on problem solving
  • Outstanding communications skills (verbal, written and presentation) with proficiency in telling a cohesive and compelling story
  • Can prioritize multiple tasks and manage time in a consistent manner
  • Experience with coordinating vendors and external partners
  • Experience working directly with clients
  • Resourceful and effective problem solver
  • Experience pitching healthcare media and securing stories
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
