Weber Shandwick’s Greg Swan Named to PRWeek’s 2011 ’40 Under 40′ List
MINNEAPOLIS – August 17, 2011 – Weber Shandwick today announced that vice president Greg Swan had been recognized by PRWeek as one of its 40 under 40. The 40 Under 40 awards recognize those PR professionals whose innovative thinking, strong determination, and results “have made noteworthy contributions to their organizations, clients, and the industry at large – all before their 40th birthdays.”
Swan leads a team that manages the U.S. Army’s award-winning digital and social media program from Weber Shandwick’s Minneapolis office. He helped the Army launch its first soldier blog, Army Strong Stories, which now boasts more than 600 soldiers and 2,000 posts, and advises dozens of clients and account teams on social media strategy.
“Greg was helping companies engage in social media long before it became a buzzword,” says David Krejci, executive vice president of Digital Communications at Weber Shandwick. “His commitment to staying ahead of the digital and social curve and his dedication to clients and colleagues, as well as his passion for digital innovation, clearly led to this national recognition.”
Swan and the 39 other award recipients will be honored November 8, 2011, at the PRWeekNEXT 2011 conference in New York City.
