Weber Shandwick Strengthens Expanding Healthcare Practice in Japan, Names Kazuhiro Hoshi Senior Vice President 

TOKYO, June 02, 2011 – Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading global public relations agencies, today announced that Kazuhiro Hoshi will join the firm as senior vice president, healthcare. Reporting directly to Aki Kubo, president and CEO of Weber Shandwick in Japan, Hoshi will work alongside Senior Fellow Jeffrey Gilbert to manage the firm’s Healthcare practice in Tokyo.

Hoshi comes to the firm with over 20 years of Japanese pharmaceutical-based communication experience. Before joining Weber Shandwick, Hoshi served as director of corporate communications for the Japan operations of Janssen Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of global pharmaceutical giant, Johnson & Johnson. For almost a decade, he led the company’s communication strategy, media relations, risk management and corporate social responsibility programs. While working at Janssen Pharmaceutical, Kazuhiro was also a member of the Communication Committee and Chairman of the Patient Group Relations Team of the Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Association.

 

Prior to serving as corporate communications director, Hoshi established Janssen’s internal communication function and developed in-house capabilities across core corporate communications disciplines including media relations, corporate advertising, production, and recruitment PR.
