Weber Shandwick Names Pam Jenkins President of Global Public Affairs Practice 

New York – June 7, 2017 − Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading global communications and engagement firms, today announced several promotions within its Public Affairs practice and Powell Tate, its Washington, D.C.-based public affairs unit.

After more than a decade as president of Powell Tate, Pam Jenkins is becoming president of the Global Public Affairs practice. Powell Tate has tripled in size since Jenkins assumed leadership of the office in 2005.

Current Public Affairs president Ranny Cooper is curtailing her full-time schedule in June after 24 years with the firm. Cooper will continue consulting with the agency and will lead special projects.

Ranny Cooper’s impact on the growth and success of Weber Shandwick’s Public Affairs practice is impossible to overstate, But after 12 years of working alongside Ranny, Pam’s presence offers the firm and its clients both a natural transition and a reason to expect additional years of success and growth.

In her new role, Jenkins will be responsible for driving growth across the firm’s global Public Affairs network, including oversight of Powell Tate and KRC Research, a global, nonpartisan opinion research and strategy firm. She will also oversee Weber Shandwick regional offices in Baltimore and the Southwest.

 

The firm announced two other senior management promotions:

 

Paul Massey, who leads Weber Shandwick’s Global Social Impact practice, has been promoted to president of Powell Tate. Massey has proven to be one of the agency’s top innovators in corporate reputation, sustainability and risk management. He retains his Social Impact practice leader responsibilities.

 

Peter Carson, managing director of Public Affairs at Powell Tate, will take on additional responsibilities as head of Public Affairs for Weber Shandwick in North America. Carson joined the agency in 2007 and has helped drive significant growth in the practice, particularly in health public affairs. Carson serves as a senior counselor to a number of the agency’s top global clients. His additional responsibilities will include oversight for Weber Shandwick Sacramento and expanding public affairs capabilities across Weber Shandwick offices in North America.
