WASHINGTON, D.C., April 16, 2015 – Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading global public relations firms, today announced that it has been selected as the strategic communications agency of record by the American Cancer Society, the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem.

Weber Shandwick Research Finds Companies with Strong Reputations Have Twice as Many Women in Senior Management

After a competitive process, the agency was chosen to support communications efforts about the Society’s cancer education and services programs. The 2015 communications work will include many key global initiatives, such as promoting research discoveries, educating people about prevention and detection guidelines for lung, colon, breast and other cancers and the Great American Smokeout.

We had a very thorough process that included the participation of world-renowned and committed agencies. We were most impressed by Weber Shandwick’s creativity, bold ideas and breadth of corporate partnerships that will help us drive global engagement to reach more people and help us further our mission to prevent cancer, save lives and diminish suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.

Raul Duany
