Weber Shandwick Honored with Gold IPG Inclusion Award
Weber Shandwick was honored with the Gold IPG Inclusion Award for Inclusive Talent Cultivation at today’s IPG Inclusion Awards ceremony in New York, which celebrates the Interpublic firms and employees from around the U.S. who “have shown leadership in advancing IPG’s goal of being one of the world’s most diverse and inclusive companies.” The Inclusive Talent Cultivation Award “recognizes an agency that successfully recruits and hires diverse talent at all levels.”
Weber Shandwick understands the importance of cultural agility in a changing and more connected world. Diversity and inclusion cut to the heart of what public relations is all about, and an inclusive environment encourages the collaboration and open idea-sharing that is a hallmark of the firm.
As part of its talent cultivation efforts, Weber Shandwick helps employees succeed by creating and managing fair access in the workplace, promoting awareness of multiple world views and respect for their importance, and giving employees the tools they need to navigate, communicate, relate and perform at their best.
The firm collaborates with organizations that are passionate and driven about diversity and inclusion to amplify efforts and increase diversity within the agency and the industry. Weber Shandwick partners with the Ron Brown Scholar Program in its mission to provide academic scholarships, service opportunities and leadership experiences for young African-Americans of outstanding promise and has hired Ron Brown scholars as interns and full-time employees.
Weber Shandwick has also rallied leaders from the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion, Digital, Public Affairs, and Measurement, Analytics & Insights practices in New York and Washington, D.C. to collaborate on the creation of the Digital Diversity Network, designed to forge ongoing relationships with influential, diverse candidates in the growing digital space.
The IPG Gold Inclusion Award follows several industry honors Weber Shandwick has earned in 2013 and 2014, including being named a Top Place to Work in PR by PR News in 2013 and 2014, as well as winning the Council of PR Firms and PRWeek Diversity Distinction in PR Award for Best PR Firm Diversity Initiative in 2013.
