Weber Shandwick celebrated major wins at the 2022 PRWeek Global Awards which took place live in London on May 19, bringing home honors and commendations across campaign, agency and professional categories. Susan-Howe

At the ceremony, Weber Shandwick President Susan Howe was named Global Agency Professional of the Year. The honor recognizes her significant contributions to the agency, including her strategic leadership of Weber Shandwick’s global regions and specialty brands, many of which experienced significant growth last year. Howe has been with Weber Shandwick for more than twenty-five years, serving in key roles, such as chief growth officer and chief collaboration officer, before becoming president of the agency in 2021. That year, she was also inducted into PRWeek’s Hall of Femme, which honors outstanding women who have made significant contributions to the communications industry.

Susan is a driving force for change and growth, both within the walls of Weber Shandwick and for the industry at large.

Gail Heimann

Weber Shandwick CEO

“She is an unmatched force of positivity and leadership. Strategy and selflessness. Empathy and intellect,” she said. “This honor is incredibly well-deserved, and we are all endlessly proud.”

Weber Shandwick also won top honors in the employee communications category for a global campaign with Unilever designed to redefine how employers and employees approach domestic violence. As rates of domestic violence skyrocketed during the pandemic, the campaign, “UNMUTE,” sought to end the silence around the issue and resulted in record-breaking employee engagement and an increase in domestic violence-related training. The judges said the campaign was “flawless” and “very impactful”, adding: “The results speak for themselves, and the execution is so smart.”

In the agency categories, Weber Shandwick MENAT (Middle East, North Africa and Turkey) was awarded a high commendation for its notable growth and achievements over the last year.

“It’s an honor to have our brave, purpose-driven work and unmatched talent recognized on a global stage,” said Heimann. “Our teams have demonstrated time and again that our in-culture approach is one that moves people to action.”
