Seda Yalçın joined Weber Shandwick in 2013 to manage the newly established operation in Istanbul, Turkey. She is specialised in strategic communications and public affairs with more than 10 years’ experience in Turkey and Brussels.
Seda started her career in the newly liberalised telecommunications sector, having worked as a regulatory affairs specialist at FusionTel Turkey. She then moved to the Turkey-Europe Foundation and in 2005 transferred to Brussels for a role at the European Commission’s DG Information Society, followed by a move to Blueprint Partners. She then continued her career at Interel, a leading public affairs and public relations consultancy in the EU capital, where she spent almost four years.
In 2010, she returned to Istanbul to take up a senior role with Grayling, heading public affairs and business development before taking on a broader leadership role. She managed a team of 15 consultants providing public relations and public affairs consultancy to global companies operating in Turkey and local Turkish firms.
During her consultancy career, Seda has served clients from a variety of sectors including consumer, energy, industry, technology and tourism. Client experience includes 3M, Dow Chemical, France Telecom, GE, Google, OMV, Hilton Worldwide, Terrestar, Tesco, Honeywell, PMI and Sony Ericsson.
Besides her mother tongue Turkish, Seda is fluent in English and French. She also speaks Dutch, German and Spanish.
