Rana Komar has been with Weber Shandwick for more than 13 years and serves as the General Manager of Chicago, where she oversees operations as well as several of the firm’s major client relationships, including Mars and Novartis Animal Health, among others. Rana provides strategic oversight to brand campaigns with a focus on driving digital/social, consumer and influencer engagement. Prior to this role, Rana served as the North American Consumer practice lead, helping to drive transformative ideas and integration across the Weber Shandwick portfolio of consumer marketing clients.
Whether developing programming that builds brand loyalty, showcases industry leadership or supports brand innovation, Rana brings brand stories to life through rich content and the intersection of traditional and social media. She has played a key role in the creation of the Pedigree Adoption Drive, an award winning campaign in its ninth year that has raised awareness for adoptable dogs and is behind establishing the brand’s Facebook community of 1.25MM passionate dog lovers. In addition, she also oversees the Valspar account ensuring their content-centric approach is helping to reach new consumers with the power in color.
Prior to rejoining Weber Shandwick, Rana was at Dome Communications where she led the ConAgra Foods Refrigerated team and was also at Edelman Public Relations where she managed the Kimberly Clark account for five years, working on educating and engaging moms on behalf of Pull-Ups, Huggies Wipes and GoodNights. She also provided consumer marketing services to companies such as Bayer Animal Health, Hoffman LaRoche and the California Pistachio Commission.
Rana earned her bachelor of arts degree in political science and music from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
