As Executive Vice President, European Brand Programmes, Richard Moss is responsible for the development and delivery of Weber Shandwick’s brand building capabilities across Europe.
Starting his career in FMCG marketing, Richard spent 14 years looking after some of the largest and most successful brands in Europe including, Robinsons Soft Drinks, Carlsberg and Andrex Tissues. He then went on to become General Manager, Marketing for one of the UK’s largest food company’s RHM, responsible for their owned cake brands.
In 1999 Richard moved into public relations having begun to identify some of the new challenges facing brands in the 21st century. Believing that PR’s expertise at creating brand advocacy through engagement would become the central pillar of brand development in the future, Richard joined the Publicis Groupe, heading up their PR arm Publicis Consultants in the UK.
Richard’s agency experience spans many sectors. As Global Director of the Speedo International account he developed the ‘Sharksuit’ campaign which was identified by the UK’s Marketing magazine as one of the top ten Olympic brand campaigns of all time. For Procter & Gamble he oversaw the stabilisation of the Sunny Delight brand following widespread issues soon after launch. And for Invista he has played a key role advising on the development of their LYCRA® brand.
Richard is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Member of the Marketing Society and a Founder Member of the Word of Mouth Association in the UK.
