Paul Baeyaert joined Weber Shandwick in June 2003 as managing director of international communications. He has 20 years’ experience in strategic communications consultancy in corporate, B-to-B and consumer marketing communications at local, national and international levels. Baeyaert is a skilled media trainer and brand specialist having worked for leading global brands such as Citibank, ExxonMobil, Goodyear, J&J, Kellogg’s, Levi Strauss, Motorola, Samsonite and Syngenta. In January 2008, Baeyaert was promoted Senior Vice President Continental and is leading Weber Shandwick’s award winning European automotive practice based in Brussels. Under his leadership, his team achieved some of the most prestigious awards in the PR industry: the campaign he developed for Goodyear was named “Best Pan-European Campaign” and “Best Automotive Campaign” at the 2005 Sabre Awards. In 2006 – for the second time in a row – his team was awarded the “Best Automotive Campaign” at the Sabre Awards for the Pan-European launch of the Opel Corsa (GM). Previously Baeyaert was managing director of public relations at Hill & Knowlton Brussels and deputy head of marketing communications for Hill & Knowlton EMEA. Baeyaert is a graduate of the University of Leuven (KUL) where he obtained a Master of Arts in Philosophy and Literature as well as Dramaturgy. He also studied Marketing and Communications at EHSAL in Brussels. He is a regular guest lecturer at leading business associations and universities such as the British Chamber of Commerce, FEB, the Boston University in Paris and IABC. He is also a former vice president of the Belgian Public Relations Consultancy Association.
