As creative director, Melendy develops integrated communication campaigns designed to transmit core brand values via innovative and enriching consumer experiences that build lasting bonds with the consumer. As deputy director to the consumer marketing practice in Europe, she works closely with WS' international team of creative, strategic planning and digital communication experts on campaigns both in and outside of Spain.
Leading current Brand Experience practice account work for clients such as Canon, Nespresso, Opel, Ericsson, Siemens, Pikolín, Heineken, the Spanish Tiles Manufacturers Association and Tourism of Asturias, Melendy and her team use in depth consumer research to develop creative multi-disciplinary campaigns capable of transmitting key brand messages effectively and building solid relationships with consumers.
Melendy Britt brings to Weber Shandwick more than 20 years international experience in branding, marketing, strategic communication and public relations, including 18 years at the Bassat Ogilvy Group, one of Spain’s largest full service communication agencies.
As VP Consumer Marketing of Bassat Ogilvy Comunicación in Madrid and local liaison for Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide in Europe, Melendy worked to promote agency efficiency, creativity and strategic thinking. Her extensive experience in luxury goods, fashion, tourism, country branding and sports marketing includes recent work for the Spanish Pavillion at EXPO Shanghái 2010, leading Spanish hotel and resort operator Sol Meliá, Madrid Tourism, Presence Switzerland, Puerto Rico Tourism, LG Electronics, Rolex, IWC Schaffhausen, Rolls-Royce, Telefónica Movistar and Geox, among other brands.
Melendy gained addidional experience working internationally in corporate communication, public relations, event management and fundraising for companies including EF European Schools (1991-1992, Madrid, Spain), The Spain ’92 Foundation, (1990-1991, Washington, D.C.), the Spanish Consulate (1991, Miami, FL), El Zamorano - La Escuela Agrícola Panamericana (1988-1990, Washington, D.C. and Tegucigalpa, Honduras) and the Keefe Company (1987, Washington, D.C.).
A regular participant in industry forums, she is an Associate Professor for the Communication Masters at the EAE – Universidad de José Camilo Cela and at the ICADE Universidad Comillas Business School.
