Lorie is general manager of Weber Shandwickâs Los Angeles office. She has 20 years of experience in public relations encompassing work in the corporate, consumer, public affairs and health sectors; her work has enabled her to support well-established companies and start-ups. Lorie specializes in launching categories, companies and products for organizations at every stage of development; supporting new entrants to mature categories with multi-stakeholder, global programs; and issues and crisis communications.
Lorie was most recently an executive vice president at Edelman where she served in numerous positions over her nine year tenure with the agency. Prior to Edelman, Lorie's diverse background includes serving on the executive committee at FischerHealth (now part of Porter Novelli/Omnicom), founding the public relations department of the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank (a member of the Second Harvest network of hunger-relief organizations), work with consumer health and beauty clients such as Pierre Fabre and TIGI/Toni & Guy, work on public affairs programs for leading oil and energy companies and political fund-raising for California state initiatives.
Lorie's work has been recognized with numerous industry awards including the distinguished MacEachern Award for excellence in healthcare communications. She earned a BA in literature from the University of California at Santa Barbara and currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband, daughter and two playful dogs.
