Josep Catllà is Chief Executive Officer of Weber Shandwick in Brussels. He has extensive experience in public relations, public affairs and political consulting and has worked with a variety of international companies and political institutions. He was managing director of Weber Shandwick in Spain until mid 2004.

Prior to joining Weber Shandwick in 2001, Josep managed the communications and external relations for the Barcelona 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures project for three years, an initiative organised by UNESCO and the Spanish Government. He was political co-ordinator for the board and managed the relationship between the organization and the 186 countries involved. Other responsibilities included corporate image, marketing and institutional relations.

Prior to this, he led the cabinet of the President of the Committee of Regions of the European Union (Mr. Pasqual Maragall, 1996-1998), was head of communication and information for the Council of Municipalities and Regions of Europe and a consultant for information, public relations and communication for the European Commission for more than three years.

Since joining Weber Shandwick, Josep has been involved in a variety of projects, including consumer, healthcare, public affairs and corporate communications initiatives. He has lead media and communication training programmes, assisted clients on crisis prevention and management issues and advised clients at board level.

Josep holds a degree in Business Administration and a Masters in International Politics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and a certificate in International Relations from New York University in the U.S. Josep is a member of the European Public Affairs Consultancies Association (EPACA) board, a member of the Communications Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce - EU Chapter, and a member of the Barcelona European Marketing Institute board.
