With an honours degree in economics, and vast commercial expertise beginning in the financial services sector before moving into the digital communications industry, Jon brings technical knowledge as well as business and marketing acumen to the Weber Shandwick Asia Pacific team.

At Weber Shandwick Jon oversees all digital operations and strategy in the 11-market Asia Pacific Digital Practice, providing senior counsel to clients and internal teams on digital strategy in the PR space. He also represents the firm from a digital thought-leadership perspective in the media and at industry speaking events around the region.

Based in Hong Kong, he joined from WPP direct agency Wunderman in London, where he held a board position. He was personally responsible for devising and executing the global digital strategy for Land Rover as well as working with a host of other blue-chip brands including Microsoft, Nokia, Lufthansa and Ford. His last assignment involved founding the agency’s new global social media marketing operation in its entirety.

Jon spoke at Cannes in 2010, his speech arguing the case for mobile apps becoming the predominant medium through which consumers globally will consume digital content in the not-too-distant future.

Other career highlight during his thirteen years in the digital industry have included running European operations for ad serving and web analytics technology companies as well as digital strategy consultancy to publishing brands such as Haymarket, BskyB and ITV as well as pharmaceutical giant, Astra Zeneca.
