Greg Power brings more than 25 years communications experience to his role as a former journalist, consumer marketer and PR consultant. He has been a broadcast journalist with Radio Canada International and CBC Radio, a communications executive with Avon Canada and a senior executive at PR agencies including Weber Shandwick Canada, Optimum-Cossette, Edelman Canada, Hill and Knowlton Canada and Rapp Collins Worldwide.
As President and General Manager of Weber Shandwick Canada, Greg provides strategic oversight to the firm’s offices in Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver and is a member of the agency’s North American leadership team. Greg specializes in developing master narratives, media strategy and senior executive advice and counsel.
Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Greg was General Manager of the Toronto office at Optimum PR at Cossette responsible for growth of its PR business and providing strategic oversight to a client portfolio including Astral Media, Addax Petroleum, Procter & Gamble, Bacardi Canada, Bell Canada, General Mills Canada, Future Shop, IKEA Canada, Hydro One, Metro Ontario, CARE Canada, FirstService Corporation and Habitat for Humanity.
From 2002-2007, Greg was Deputy General Manager of the Toronto office and leader of the consumer, technology and interactive practices at Edelman Canada, where he worked on major brands such as Loblaw Companies Limited, Cranium, Parmalat, Red Bull, Expedia.ca, Michelin, Samsung, AXE and Indigo Books and Music. At Hill and Knowlton, he led communications activities for Motorola, E*TRADE, MSN and Purolator. At Rapp Collins, he led PR activities for SC Johnson’s OFF! brand and Fairmount Hotels.
As corporate communications manager at Avon, Greg managed the company’s cause marketing initiative the "Flame Crusade Against Breast Cancer,“ it’s sports marketing program "Avon Running", and was responsible for corporate communications. From 1982-1985 Greg produced radio documentaries for CBC Radio and Radio Canada International.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from McGill University and a Bachelor of Journalism with High Honours from Carleton University.
