Emma-Jane (E-J) joined Weber Shandwick Australia in September 2000 to head up the Consumer Practice Group. She was made Managing Director in 2006. Over the last 15 years in the industry, she has worked on a number of high profile international clients in Australia, Europe and the UK. Her experience covers a wide range of sectors including: consumer, IT, healthcare, issues management and financial services.
E-J has particular skills in developing creative and strategic public relations campaigns to support brand re-positioning, thought leadership activities and product launches. Since taking on the leadership role, the Sydney office has become one of the lead performers in the region, with a stellar line up of clients and a talented team of practitioners.
Client experience includes: Singapore Airlines, Nestle, Unilever, Johnson & Johnson Pacific, Sony Computer Entertainment, Macquarie Private Wealth, Royal Bank of Scotland, Bayer Schering. The award winning Australian team works with a diverse range of clients who demand best practice, sound strategic planning, innovative campaigns and meaningful results.
Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, E-J worked at The Rowland Company (now Edelman) developing and implementing campaigns for Speedo International, Proctor & Gamble and Dairy Farmers. In the UK she worked as an Account Manager at The RED Consultancy, the leading consumer public relations agency. During more than 3 years at RED she managed campaigns for clients including Microsoft, msn.co.uk, Prudential, Whitbread PLC and Office Angels.
Her first job in public relations was at Mainland PR, London working for clients such as Allied Dunbar, Perpetual and Lloyd’s of London. She began her career on the newsdesk of the Guardian Newspaper, London.
E-J holds a BA (Hons) degree in English Language and Literature from The University of Liverpool UK. She is an Associate of the PRIA and member of the Registered Consultancies Group.
