Weber Shandwick's Second Annual VOICEBOXX Executive Roundtable

On October 20, 2009, a select group of top communications and marketing professionals from across the country gathered at the Samsung Experience in New York for the firm's Second Annual VOICEBOXX™ Executive Roundtable. The main theme for the event was “The Reinvention Economy: Re-casting Communications as a Critical Corporate Innovator.” Moderated by Poppy Harlow of CNNMoney.com, the panel was comprised of our Chairman Jack Leslie; David Steel, Samsung; Jim Whaley, Siemens; Anita Larsen, Unilever; and Chris Preuss, GM.

The panel addressed key issues impacting marketing and communications strategies in today's business landscape. Highlights from the event included discussion surrounding how communications is moving from the end of the supply chain to the initial process of reinvention; the emerging new media paradigm of online and offline communications, and the impact of social media on transparency and overall communications strategies. The audience at the Samsung Experience was comprised of high-level communications leaders from companies including Liberty Mutual, MasterCard, MAC Cosmetics, Polo Ralph-Lauren, Goldman Sachs, SPX Corporation, Lowes Company, Barron's Online Dow Jones & Co. and Hilton Head Island. Key industry and national press reporters were also in the audience, including those from PRWeek, Forbes, Financial Times, BusinessWeek, MediaBistro.com and PRNews.

The event was covered in a 10/19 BrandWeek exclusive, with additional coverage slated to run in PRNews, MediaPost.com, Ad Age, Crain's New York, and BusinessWeek. Attendees also extended the morning's discussion to the Twitter community by “live tweeting” the event using the #VOICEBOXX hashtag.
