POSITION PROFILE

Current Global is seeking a Vice President, Client Experience with expertise in corporate communications. A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and integrated media mindset, the Vice President will be responsible for managing corporate-focused work – providing counsel related to narrative and messaging development, executive visibility, thought leadership, media relations, reputation and issue management – in addition to serving as a day-today client lead and mentoring junior talent. The position will also contribute actively to new business responses and building our portfolio of corporate accounts.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own responsibilities for executional leadership of multiple client programs, budgets, plans
  • Maintain daily client contact, serving as a trusted resource and advisor
  • Facilitate cross-functional team integration (strategy, creative, integrated media specialists), in addition to managing account-focused team members
  • Drive development of communications plans, translating strategies into tactics and ensuring team deliverables align with objectives
  • Become a trusted industry expert, going deep into client’s business to provide value
  • Support and suggest improvements and new ideas to exceed client expectations by leveraging industry knowledge and experience
  • Manage ongoing team resourcing/staffing to ensure successful delivery of work product
  • Contribute to the career growth of junior team members, serving as mentor and role model
  • Participate in agency development and assist with new business
  • Demonstrate financial acumen in the areas of budgeting, billing and staffing

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of relevant reputation building and corporate communications experience, ideally with both agency and in-house experience  
  • Corporate communications expertise, with a specialization on speaking and event placement
  • Experience working with integrated teams and on integrated campaigns
  • Some experience with reputation/issues/crisis management
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree

NYC Salary range: $125,000 – $165,000

What will you be doing?

As part of our 30-member strong Consumer Brand team, you will be:

  • Developing strong media relationships, proactively identifying and driving media opportunities which support the client’s business objectives
  • Creatively developing media programmes that meet the client brief
  • Taking responsibility to execute media relations strategies
  • Cultivating multi-media relationships and pitching content in
  • Building relationships with influencers and working across influencer activation campaigns
  • Being part of the creative development of integrated campaigns
  • Representing the agency as part of inter-agency meetings and calls
  • Using your great writing skills for creating press materials and media pitches
  • Enhancing existing client relationships
  • Strategic counsel – providing the client with added value solutions, and developing new ideas and media plans
  • Translating client needs into project plans
  • Managing accounts, advising and supporting clients, ensuring results are achieved and client’s overall objectives are met
  • Mentoring junior staff

Who are you?

Ideally you are already operating at Account Manager level and have strong foundations in the world of PR. You are a positive energy within a team and are someone for the junior members of the practice to look up to and mirror your work ethic. You’ll need:

  • Experience working with national, high profile brands
  • Great media contacts across a range of platforms beyond traditional publications
  • Experience of managing junior team members
  • Social media and/or digital experience – and be excited to explore the ample opportunities to develop these areas of the business
  • Be an extremely organised person
  • Strong communications and client-handling skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Be happy presenting – whether internally or to a client
  • Be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing

EXPERIENCES GREAT FOR THE ROLE:

Media relations (40%)

  • Good knowledge of local media landscape, coupled with strong relationships with key lifestyle Media in Singapore.
  • Ability to identify suitable media for consumer announcements and launches, as well as pitch to them to feature our brand’s news.
  • Able to develop different pitch angles to make the stories relevant to the readers of the different media touchpoints.

Influencer Marketing (40%)

  • A proven track record in working with social influencers in Singapore, with strong relationships especially for Beauty, Lifestyle brands.
  • Experience in working with beauty and lifestyle brands to co-create content with KOLs, specifically to perform the functions of: (1) identifying and evaluating the right KOLs for your brands, (2) outreach and negotiations to confirm KOLs for campaigns, (3) develop content creation briefs that are aligned to brand asks and brief the KOLs afterwards, (4) review the content to ensure its aligned to the brief, (5) manage the posting with the KOLs, (6) as well as provide insightful evaluations of the campaign performance when it ends.
  • You should be a social media native, actively participating and use platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and other relevant social media platforms in Singapore.
  • You also keep your fingers on the pulse with different social media trends, especially those related to the beauty/cosmetics and lifestyle category and are able to effectively ideate trend-jacking content co-creation ideas to leverage these trends.

 Social Media Marketing (20%)

  • Development and management of a social media calendar.
  • Development of social media content, and creative brief to develop visuals for publishing.
  • Managing the publishing of the content across various social media platforms.
  • Reporting of social media content performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience for Associate, 3 to 4 years for Senior Associate.
  • Passion for Beauty, lifestyle and consumer communications.
  • BA or BS in communications, business, marketing or related field.
