INEOS Bio: Waste-to-Ethanol Technology

ChallengeINEOS Bio, a biofuel company, wanted to build awareness for its unique waste-to-ethanol technology and support the ground breaking of the world’s first cellulosic ethanol bio refinery.
Strategic ApproachThe Weber Shandwick Cleantech practice developed a new corporate messaging framework, refreshed the website content and started a strategic media relations campaign that focused on introducing INEOS Bio executives to influential biofuel trade media and cleantech reporters.
In early 2011, we worked closely with INEOS Bio to announce the groundbreaking of the new bio refinery in Vero Beach, Florida. The Weber Shandwick Cleantech team provided on-site support at the event to ensure consistent message delivery by INEOS Bio executives and support for reporters from TIME, trade publications and local news outlets.
OutcomeThe groundbreaking announcement was a success and resulted in numerous articles, including a feature in the
New York Times, dozens of online blogs and a cover story on Ethanol Today. INEOS Bio brand became synonymous with its unique waste-to-ethanol technology and the world’s first cellulosic ethanol bio refinery received significant media attention.
