Weber Shandwick Hires Daniel Honigman As Digital Communications Supervisor

CHICAGO May 28, 2009 – Weber Shandwick today announced that Daniel Honigman will join the firm’s Chicago office as a digital communications supervisor on June 8th.

Honigman, previously the social media strategist and editorial engagement strategist at Tribune Interactive, was the creator of “Colonel Tribune,” the Chicago Tribune’s widely-embraced web ambassador that has become one of the more popular Twitter and web personalities run by a traditional media organization. He is recognized for helping change the culture of mainstream media and the way it interacts with its digital audiences. Last year Honigman also co-founded Old Media, New Tricks, a site targeted toward people working in "mainstream" media that provides tips about social and new media.

“Daniel is someone who understands the power of social media and the positive impact a personal voice online can have for brands,” said Adam Keats, senior vice president, Weber Shandwick’s Digital Communications practice. “His creative approaches and innovations in the social media space will be a tremendous benefit to our clients as we work with them to deploy digital platforms to achieve their business objectives.”
