June 27, 2008 – Charles Fitzgibbon, executive vice president of the Baltimore office of Weber Shandwick, has been honored with the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Maryland Chapter’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was presented June 26 at the 2008 Best in Maryland awards banquet at the Intercontinental Harbor Court in Baltimore.
The PRSA Lifetime Achievement Award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the field of public relations and maintained consistent involvement with the PRSA or other organizations committed to the advancement of the communications profession.
In 20 years with Weber Shandwick, Fitzgibbon has promoted the growth and development of the public relations firm while serving numerous corporate, healthcare, institutional and non-profit clients with local, national and international campaigns. An accredited member of PRSA, he served as the Maryland Chapter President from 1990-1991. His work in public relations has been honored five times with the prestigious Silver Anvil Award of the national PRSA. Fitzgibbon is a summa cum laude graduate of Towson University.
