LOS ANGELES, May 7, 2008 – Weber Shandwick, a leading global public relations firm, today announced it has named Chris Perry general manager of the company’s Southern California operations. Perry, most recently executive vice president in Weber Shandwick’s Detroit office, will be based in Los Angeles. He assumes the role vacated by Rod Clayton, who was recently named head of the firm’s Issues and Crisis Management group in London.
“Chris is an outstanding public relations professional. His success in implementing digital and integrated marketing campaigns as well as a broad background in management drive real business results,” said Weber Shandwick President Andy Polansky. “His experience will greatly complement our overall client offering in the Southern California region.”
Perry has worked with clients in an array of business sectors for major corporations, mid-market companies and start-up organizations. He has worked extensively on campaigns and organizational strategies that take advantage of technology innovation and social networking. He most recently managed operations at Weber Shandwick’s Detroit office and is the Client Relationship Leader (CRL) for the General Motors account. He will now oversee the company’s Southern California operations and continue in his role as CRL for General Motors. Perry will report to Ken Luce, president of Weber Shandwick California and Southwest.
Previously, Perry was vice president with Edelman Worldwide. He served as one of the founding members of the company’s business-to-business marketing practice, overseeing telecommunications and emerging technology accounts. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Dayton.
